What we'll do

Come on the adventure of a lifetime on liveaboard "OceanQuest"!

With daily departures from Cairns, OceanQuest is without a doubt the best way to sleep on the Great Barrier Reef. OceanQuest recently underwent a major refit/renovation in 2017 and is the most comfortable liveaboard on the reef.

On-board there are 18 comfortable twin cabins with two single beds and 4 double bed cabins. All cabins are equipped with air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. OceanQuest provides a spacious and comfortable ‘home away from home’, offering a truly unique experience for all divers and snorkelers wanting to explore this pristine underwater playground.

Every morning you will wake up to watch the sun rise over the reef, before enjoying delicious breakfast buffets. Jump in the water at some fantastic dive sites that are frequented by myriads of tropical fish, rays, turtles, (friendly) sharks and the ever-popular diver-friendly Maori Wrasse. There are swim-throughs, wall and drift dives that will appeal to every level of diver experience. The dive sites are chosen on a daily basis by the vessel Captains for the best variety and visibility according to the weather conditions. You can also upgrade to OceanQuest exclusive packages including "Fluro Diving" and "Sharks in the Dark" - we highly recommend these fantastic extras!

      So much diving!!

First time on a liveaboard, great experience. Accommodations quite adequate for close quarters, good food, tea and coffee always available, staff very helpful. I liked that we could choose to dive guided or unguided for each dive or could choose to skip a dive altogether. (Phil & Hayden we our favorite guides) We stayed 2 nights which was the perfect length for us. 4 dives the first day, 5 the second and 3 the third. Night dives offered, all equipment and transfers included. Only Complaint is no hot cocoa!!!

      Ocean Quest and Reef Quest

I have recently had the pleasure to go on the ReefQuest and OceanQuest Vessel. The trips were amazing. We drove to two different locations and these were the best corals Ive ever seen. Furthermore the service and food was awesome. Especially Frazer and Laura were extremely nice and made my day even better! Cheers and thanks for the time

      Divers Den

I conducted my first liveaboard experience with Divers Dens Ocean Quest. I did 4 days and 3 nights. The crew were very friendly and helpful. The dives were very organised, the whole operation was sleek and safety was foremost. I do not eat spicy food but on speaking to the chef he made me another meal. They was plenty of food and I never was hungry. Everyone bent over backwards to make the diving and the holiday a great experience. I would like to specially acknowledge Maddie and Cyril, my dive guards. I have chronic degenerative disc disease. I have had 2 discs fused and have another 2 that are prolapsed. On day 1 I was struggling to get into the water and thought I would have to give up diving. Maddie and Cyril individually worked with me to solve the problem. They never made me feel like a burden, were patient and observant assisting straight away. I found them to be passionate about diving and marine life. They showed me animals I would of missed and tried to find animals I wanted to encounter. They are genuine, lovely people who were easy to get on with. My favourite dive was the night dive with the reef sharks. Thank you for an awesome experience. I look forward to diving with you again.

      Excellent quest liveabord

Spent two nights liveabord on Ocean Quest with Tom and his crew. It was awesome, crew was so thoughtful, Tom really remembered names of all 48 guest! Special thanks to all guides unfortunately I don't remembered all names: Maddie, Emily, Rayan and Jess and other guys thank you so much for your caring. It was my first diving trip and I didn't feel any anxiety with my diving thanks to guides and other crew. My wife and I definitely want to repeat a trip next year.

The friendly staff made us feel absolutely comfortable at all times on Ocean Quest. Complements to our chef Cotti for the wonderful food and her smiling personality. Also I - as a non diver - benefited from the experienced snorkel guides to show me some of the GBRs fantastic wildlife. Dont miss out on Sharks in the dark . Thank you diving instructor Anna for recommending Divers Den.
