What we'll do

Sydney's Chinatown is full of secrets and excellent restaurants, and on this experience, you're going to see and taste a bit of everything!

Your tour starts outside Paddy's Markets and the start of Dixon St mall. You'll get a run-down on Chinatown's early history and development, before heading off to explore the neighbourhood.

This tour has a strong focus on uncovering Sydney's long connection with China, and the contributions Chinese-Australians have made to the community. You'll learn more in this 2-hour tour about Australia's Chinese community than you could possibly imagine, and "pub trivia" style games will keep it interactive and fun.

Along the way, you'll sample a range of snacks from some of Chinatown's best restaurants, with a minimum of 4 food stops included. All snacks are street foods that represent different parts of China and are designed to be eaten on the move.

Mouth-watering food, interesting stories and a great way to support local businesses - what are you waiting for?

About your guides

Your guide will normally be me, Justin. I'm a recovering lawyer and the "Head Honcho" of AussieYou. About 4 years ago I quit my corporate job to work in a happier industry - tourism! I love showing people around Sydney and bringing together people from all over the world. Chinatown is one of my favourite parts of Sydney, but I know it can be overwhelming with the number of restaurants and unfamiliar cuisines.

I have previously lived and studied in China - yep, 我会说中文!(I can speak Chinese) so I feel at home in Chinatown, and love bringing other people along on my Chinatown food adventures.

On some weekends one of my co-hosts will lead the tour. We're all locals and can't wait to show you around.
