What we'll do
Join a knowledgeable local guide on a fun walk through the inner-city suburbs of Pyrmont, Ultimo and Glebe!
Often ignored by visitors to Sydney, these older neighbourhoods are bursting with stories and hidden gems that even many locals don't know about.
On this walk, you'll learn why there are so many pubs in this part of Sydney and what a "VIP Lounge" is, discover the Aboriginal and early European history of the area and be surprised by our choice for Australia's "national dish". You'll also see why this is one of the most multicultural parts of Australia, gain an insight into our unique sense of humour and find out some Aussie slang along the way.
We'll stop for a coffee at a favourite local cafe mid-way through the walk, and at the end, we finish with a glass of delicious local craft beer at one of the most unique pubs you'll find in Sydney - complete with a talking pet cockatoo! We recommend doing this early in your Sydney stay as you'll get lots of tips to make your time in this city amazing.
Come see a different side of Sydney with an experienced, youthful and entertaining tour guide!

About your guides
Your main guide for this walk is Justin. I'm a recovering lawyer and the "Head Honcho" of AussieYou. About 3 years ago I quit my corporate job to work in a happier industry - tourism! I love showing people around Sydney and have lived in the Glebe area for the last few years, so this walk is in my 'hood. I have also solo travelled all through South America, Europe and Asia, visiting over 40 countries. I have previously lived and studied in China - yep, 我会说中文！(I can speak Chinese)
On some weekends Atra will lead these walks. She's a long-term Pyrmont local, media lawyer during the week and fluent Japanese and Farsi speaker. Atra has lived and studied in Australia, Japan, the United States and Canada and was born in Iran. Her favourite travel destination is Europe.
What should I bring? We recommend a water bottle, sunscreen, cash or a credit card (for any additional purchases) and an Opal card for public transport (also available for purchase at the end of the walk).
Where do we start? We'll begin our walk at Darling Harbour, meeting at the control tower in the middle of Pyrmont Bridge. Click here for the Google map link.
Where do we finish? We finish in Glebe, a trendy inner-city suburb with lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and bookshops. We finish near Glebe Point Road and very close to the fantastic Glebe markets (Saturdays only).
How long does the walk go for? The walk takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, with a coffee stop along the way. We walk approximately 3km total, at a relaxed pace. It is a relatively flat walk that is wheelchair accessible.
What days does the walk operate? We operate most Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings (see calendar for availability).
Do you offer gift vouchers? Yes, we do! Select the "Open Date" option when booking, then reply to the booking confirmation email to let us know that it is for someone else. We'll prepare you a customised gift voucher that you can give to them.
Are private tours available? Yes! Private tours are available for groups of 5 or more and can be given in English, Mandarin Chinese or Japanese. Please contact us for more information.
Who can come? Guests ages 4 and up can attend. Parents may also bring children under 2 years of age for free.
I don't like walking. That wasn't really a question, was it?
