See all of the Great Ocean Road and spend a day exploring the Grampians!
You'll start early on day one in Melbourne, heading straight out for the start of the Great Ocean Road. Your driver guide is super knowledgeable and will share the history of this famous coastal road and some local Aboriginal stories. Along the way, you'll stop in sleepy coastal towns, try to spot some koalas and feed parrots at Kennett River and enjoy a guided bushwalk in the ancient Otways rainforest.
In the afternoon you'll see all the main attractions of the Great Ocean Road, including the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge. Then you'll drive to the Grampians and sleep overnight in Halls Gap. On day two your day starts with some kangaroo spotting, then you'll visit a nearby lookout for spectacular views of the region. Later you'll visit some epic waterfalls (either MacKenzie Falls or Silverband Falls) and go for a swim. You'll also bushwalk to the famous Jaws of Death or check out some Aboriginal rock art, before heading back to Melbourne.
See two of Australia's most famous attractions in an action-packed two days!

DAY 1 - Great Ocean Road
Your adventure starts with an early pick up from a range of central Melbourne locations. You head straight for the Great Ocean Road, with a morning snack stop at an iconic Aussie beach where you can get some sand between your toes. Then you'll visit the historic Memorial Arch for some photos, before heading to Kennett River to spot wild koalas and feed parrots. Afterwards, your group will go on a guided bushwalk in the ancient Otways Rainforest Twelve Apostles. In the afternoon, you'll view the 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge, and hear some fascinating stories about their past. As the sun sets, you'll make your way to the Grampians and stay overnight in shared accommodation in Halls Gap (private rooms also available).
DAY 2 - Grampians National Park
Wake up and go meet some friendly kangaroos on the nearby oval before breakfast. Then you'll go head up into the Grampians National Park and experience spectacular views of the region from either Reed’s Lookout or Lake Bellfield. Afterwards, your group will drive to MacKenzie Falls or Silverband Falls to check out some beautiful waterfalls and have a swim if it is warm and safe. The main attraction today is a bushwalk to the Jaws of Death, where you may also see some Aboriginal rock art. Then it is back on the bus and time to head for Melbourne, arriving back between 8:00 and 9:00 pm.
We saw some fabulous country in our 2 day/1 night tour of the Great Ocean Road and Grampians. Our guide, Gerry, knew so much about the local area and the history and geomorphology of the landforms we saw...it was a great tour, with plenty of opportunity to stop and walk around.
Did the 2 day Great Ocean Road and Grampians tour from Melbourne and back. Our tour guide Gerry was absolutely fabulous. His knowledge of the area, history, plants and animals was deep and he shared it willingly. Because of him, we really enjoyed this tour. Food: Coffee and cookies is provided about an hour into the tour, so make sure you have breakfast before starting out. The lunch provided is a sandwich, which was quite good, but you will need to buy a drink or anything else. We stopped at a restaurant for dinner. With a beer, it came to $25. It also was very good. Breakfast on day 2 was provided and put together by Gerry and was very good. Lunch was purchased at a cafe. Accommodation: Stayed at Ned's Beds hostel in Halls Gap. Dormitory rooms held 6 people each (3 bunk beds). Sheets were clean, lots of plugs for recharging phones, shower had lots of hot water. Only drawback was that it was quite hot, but a fan helped. Although we were much older (early 60s) than the others in the tour, we enjoyed the people in our dorm and the stay that night. Value: We did a number of tours during our three week stay in Australia, and this was the best value. It includes so much to see, such a knowledgeable guide, and suitable food and accommodations. Cons: The only issue we could identify is the tour van. It appeared to be older, seats were tight, no place to put drinks, had to hold onto daypack or put on floor, and the radio didn't work properly (although this was OK with us as Gerry filled the time with great information). Given the long distance covered, a newer model would benefit this tour. Wonderful tour. Would definitely recommend. Even if you are older, don't let the shared accommodation scare you off.
Henning is what made the tour! He was amazing! So knowledgeable and so many great stories!
Such a fun tour! Tara stopped for us to take pictures and see some cool sights along the drive - including koalas. She was very informative and lots of fun. The Great Ocean Road and the Grampians were both amazing. It was so cool being able to see koalas, kangaroos, and so many different birds in the wild. A must do!
I had a fantastic time on the Great Ocean Road + Grampians 2 Day 1 Night tour. I took the tour back in November 2018 and had Tim as my tour guide. I find on most tours that the fun and beauty is due to the area you are visiting and the tour guide usually supplements or takes away from that. In this case, despite how fantastic the sites are on this tour, I feel like Tim was the best part of the tour. Amazing stories and an ability to connect to everyone on the group. I will be sure to use Wildlife Tours when I next return to Australia!
