Join an award-winning wine and food tour of the Hunter Valley with Jimmy the chef!
Jimmy's Hunter Valley gourmet wine trip is our favourite way to experience the food and wine of the Hunter region. This tour is truly unique and provides the opportunity for you to taste locally made wines matched with a regional Australian menu. All food is prepared on location by your very own professional guide and chef, Jimmy.
Your day starts with a quick trip to the Sydney Fish Markets, where you can learn about Australian seafood. Then it is time to head north, stopping at the Hawkesbury River for a delicious, freshly-cooked breakfast. Continue on to the Hunter Region, where you'll visit 3 different award-winning wineries, each with their own unique wines.
At each winery, Jimmy will prepare some Australian food such as Kangaroo and Barramundi, which is paired perfectly with the wines. Take time to enjoy the beautiful scenery as you drive through the Hunter Valley region, and keep an eye out for kangaroos grazing in their natural habitat.
A full day of wine tasting, delicious chef-cooked food and amazing scenery. Seriously, what are you waiting for?!
Jimmy is a self-confessed former “grumpy chef”, who worked in 5-star restaurants and hotels around the world for many years, while also working part-time as a tour guide. Then a few years ago, while on a camping trip for his 30th birthday, he decided on a career change. He combined his chef and guiding experience to create the ultimate foodie day tour - and he is definitely no longer a grumpy chef!
“Finally I am able to fulfil my passion for cooking and guiding amidst the beautiful Australian countryside”
Jimmy is a Sydney local, growing up in the Blue Mountains and he now lives in the north of Sydney. When not sharing his passion for food, you’ll find him out camping around Australia, enjoying the view with a beer or wine in hand.
