DAY 1 - Kangaroo Island
Your adventure starts with an early pick up from a range of central Adelaide locations. From the main bus station, you'll catch a coach that takes you straight to Cape Jervis, where you'll transfer to the ferry. Once on Kangaroo Island, you'll be met by your driver-guide and board your small group tour. First stop is a visit to Rob's Shearing and Sheep Dogs, where you can watch a sheep-shearing show. Then it is on to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for a delicious lunch.
Afterwards, you'll visit Seal Bay Conservation Park, and go on a guided beach walk to see some of the members of the third largest Australian sea lion colony in Australia. Continuing on your way, visit the Little Sahara sand dunes and try your hand at some sandboarding. Hang on tight! Late in the afternoon, you'll arrive at Vivonne Bay Lodge where you will stay overnight. If there's time, go for a kayak, swim or bike ride before a home-cooked dinner. Enjoy a drink and chat with your fellow travellers before tucking in for the night.
DAY 2 - Kangaroo Island
Wake up and smell the fresh air, munch on some breakfast then it is time to take off for the day. First stop is the Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary where you can go koala spotting. How many can you spot?! Afterwards, continue on to Flinders Chase National Park where you can see the famous Remarkable Rocks, and most importantly, get there before the crowds. While on this side of the island, you'll also get to visit Admirals Arch and see the island's other colony of seals.
After a delicious BBQ lunch at Flinders Chase Visitors Centre, the group will journey on to the beautiful, secluded beach of Stokes Bay. This place is stunning, and not many visitors to Kangaroo Island make it this far, so enjoy your time here! On the way back to Penneshaw and the ferry you may make some additional stops (time permitting). Say goodbye to your tour guide and board the ferry back to the mainland, and remember, you can always come back!
The Kangaroo Island Adventure 2 day / 1 night tour was a blast. Unbelievable sites and great lodging at the Vivonne Bay Lodge. Our tour guide Jen was an absolute pleasure. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really made us feel welcome. Her BBQ skills are on point as well! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique and memorable weekend.
Amazing two days! The weather cooperated, and the animals were amazing. Saw my first Koala outside the Vivone lodge were we stayed. The lodge while somewhat basic is exactly the kind of place I enjoy most. Laid back, comfortable, and very relaxing. Jen, our guide for the two days was wonderful! Very knowledgable, and knows were the animals are. Saw so many Koala's and kangaroos and wallaby's. Also emu's, endangered geese and other birds. The scenery is unsurpassed, and the tour well organized. Jen was very good at getting our ferry tickets and explaining how to get our bus tickets after the ferry ride. All in all, an excellent and very rememberable two days.
We had the best two days on beautiful Kangaroo Island with our fabulous guide Jen! The itinerary was well paced and very interesting and diversified...and Jen had such great stories to tell us. Of course the crystal waters and pristine beaches and wildlife galore just went on and on! Great stay at Vivonne Lodge! This was money well spent...many thanks!
I had a fantastic two-day trip on Kangaroo Island with Kangaroo Island Adventure Tours! We visited lots of different places, among others a sheep farm, Seal Bay Conservation Park and beautiful beaches. Jen, our guide, had extensive local knowledge to share, local history, farming and produce and indigenous dreamtime stories. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious!
A very full 2 days but well worth it. Wildlife was abundant kangaroos koalas seals possums and more. the visits to various sites to see sheep shearing, eucalyptus/emu oil products the honey farm ( try the ice cream) all interesting and informative. Jen our guide was amazingly informative about KI and Australiaian wildlife but delivered her information with a good sense of humour. Our lodge was basic but clean and spacious ( family room) the shared facilities in excellent order. Jens food was really good and healthy! And food allergies/ preferences well catered for. Dont forget to try some of the locally produced alcohol cider/beer/wine all made on the island. Thanks again Jen for a great 48 hours
