Newtown is a truly diverse neighbourhood, and on this experience, you're going to see and taste a bit of everything!
Your tour starts at a popular brewery for a shared tasting paddle or a glass of craft beer. You'll get a run-down on Newtown's history, colourful characters and development, before heading off to explore the neighbourhood.
You'll sample a range of Newtown's multicultural cuisine, with a minimum of 4 food stops included. Cuisine options include Egyptian, Indian, Pakistani, Turkish, Thai, Japanese, "Australian" (whatever that is) and more! Vegetarian and vegans are sorted too - Newtown is famous for its many vegan-friendly restaurants. As we explore, you'll see some of the neighbourhood's best street art.
The tour finishes at a restaurant that embodies what Newtown is all about and serves up delicious, home-made style food. And there's always the option for a nightcap, with some excellent bars close by.
Mouth-watering food, delicious drinks, cool street art and a great crew to hang with for the night - what are you waiting for?!
Your guide will normally be me, Justin. I'm a recovering lawyer and the "Head Honcho" of AussieYou. About 3 years ago I quit my corporate job to work in a happier industry - tourism! I love showing people around Sydney and bringing together people from all over the world. Newtown is one of my favourite parts of Sydney and I often recommend my guests visit this diverse, bohemian neighbourhood. I love checking out all the great eateries and bars in Newtown, so stick with me and you'll see the area like a local!
I have also solo travelled all through South America, Europe and Asia, visiting over 40 years. I have previously lived and studied in China - yep, 我会说中文！(I can speak Chinese).
