What we'll do
Escape to North Stradbroke Island for the ultimate one-day wildlife!
North Stradbroke Island, or "Straddie" as it is affectionately known, is Brisbane's most accessible island escape, just 30 kilometres southeast of the city. Join an all-inclusive small group tour lead by Tim from Shakas Adventure Tours and discover why locals love escaping here.
On this tour, you'll visit the pristine waters of Brown Lake, check out the epic North Gorge Walk and have a dip at Myora Springs, a freshwater spring. You'll learn about the Aboriginal history of the island which dates back as far as 25,000 years ago. Your tour also includes a relaxing lunch on the beach with locally made burgers followed by a swim at Cylinder Beach.
While on the island, you'll have plenty of time to search for koalas, kangaroos and heaps of marine life. On most tours, you'll see koalas, kangaroos, whales and manta rays (in season), turtles, and heaps of dolphins!
